Giving Back to the Community
TataPower-DDL derives its ethos from the Tata Group where caring for the community is a cardinal virtue. In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, Tata Power-DDL came forward with a slew of initiatives to strengthen India’s war against the epidemic.
The company sponsored and distributed 2 lakh meals for the underprivileged during the nationwide lockdown. The ABHA members, who are the company's brand ambassadors in the JJ Clusters, together with the volunteers and partner NGOs ensured these people had access to healthy food.
Tata Power-DDL and The Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj Hotels) joined hands with the Delhi Government to provide meals to the medical staff and patients at major Government hospitals in Delhi. Supporting the country’s fight in mitigating the infection spread, Tata Power-DDL deployed two mobile dispensaries to distribute masks and other essential items to the community members.
Tata Power-DDL also extended its support to the Delhi Police by providing them with some essential safety kits (1000 PPE kits, 1050 litres hand sanitizers/hand rub) to ensure our brave heroes are equally safe while performing their duties.
E-learning has been a major transformation in the education system amid the Covid crisis with students turning to screens for their virtual classes. To help students cope with the challenges of availability of digital equipment and enable them to smoothly enter the realm of online education, Tata Power-DDL organised an event at the Delhi Government School, Shalimar Bagh in the presence of the chief guest Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Manish Sisodia, Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Tata Power-DDL, and company officials along with few students invited from 52 Government schools.
Tata Power-DDL in association with the Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi distributed E-Tablets to 1059 students of Classes XI & XII from 52 Government schools associated with its Tata Affirmative Action Program and different CSR initiatives in its area of operation. The event was conducted in adherence to the COVID-19 safety guidelines.
