Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited signs an MoU with CBIP for Skill Development and efficient Capacity Building in the Power Distribution SectorDate : May 13, 2022

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, a pioneering power utility supplying electricity to a populace of over 7 million in North Delhi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP), for conducting capacity building training for the development & impartment of Capacity Building and Skill Development of personnel in the power distribution sector.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Subir Verma, Chief HR, IR and HS, Tata Power-DDL and Mr. Sanjeev Singh, Director-Energy, CBIP in the presence of Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Tata Power-DDL and Mr. AK Dinkar, Secretary, CBIP at New Delhi.

The main objective of this MoU is to nurture and groom power sector professionals with the requisite skills through advanced training programs in areas like Smart Grid, Grid Automation, Electric Vehicle and Charging Infrastructure, IoT, AI & ML with Drone Technology Integration etc.

Apart from conducting combined programs including customized onsite programs and calendar training programs, Tata Power-DDL and CBIP will carry out joint research and development activities in the fields of Smart Grid Technologies, Electric Vehicle and Charging Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Grid Integration Technologies and Cyber Security etc.

Commenting on the association, Subir Verma, Chief-HR, IR & EHS, Tata Power-DDL said, “Power Sector is undergoing a radical transformation. We, at Tata Power-DDL, are committed to strengthen the power sector ecosystem by creating a knowledge pool of talent to cater to the changing demands of the sector. The training programs under the partnership will be designed in accordance with new and emerging technologies and best practices for enhancing knowledge competency. CBIP is a knowledge bank and an exchange for dissemination of experience and technical knowledge related to Power, Water Resources and Renewable Energy Sectors.
