Tata Power-DDL sets up 2 Any Time Water RO Plants at Delhi Govt. Schools in BurariDate : Aug 26, 2020

- RO plant to provide purified drinking water to over 7000 students, teachers and non-teaching staff daily

- Company has installed a total of 74 RO Water Plants at various JJ Clusters spread across its area of operations; benefitting over 3.6 lakh people everyday

- Under its initiative ‘Harit Ek Pehel’ company also organised a tree plantation drive


TATA Power-DDL has always believed in working towards the betterment and upliftment of underprivileged sections of the society. In line with the same, it has installed two RO Plants at Delhi Government Schools, Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya and Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Nathupura, Burari, respectively.

The company as part of its initiative to provide clean drinking water in Delhi Government Schools across its operational areas in North Delhi dedicated these RO plants with the capacity of purifying 500 lts. water per hour catering to the requirements of potable water of more than 7000 students at both schools. This will essentially prove beneficial once the schools reopen post pandemic. Tata Power-DDL has installed 74 such RO Plants till date at Educational Institutions, JJ Clusters (slums), Delhi Metro Stations, which directly benefits more than 3.6 Lakh people every day.

The RO plants were inaugurated by Shri Shrutibodh Agarwal, Deputy Director of Education (North), Mr. Ajay Sharma, Counsellor, MCD (North), and Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Power-DDL in the presence of Senior Officials of Tata Power-DDL, Principal, and School Management Committee Members (SMC). The inauguration was followed by a Mega Plantation drive in Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, wherein more than 2000 samplings were planted. The discarded water from the RO set up will be used to water the plants.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Tata Power-DDL said, “Ensuring the health and hygiene of young children will be of prime importance when the schools reopen post-pandemic. Implementation of RO Water Plants is a small but significant step in the same direction which aims to help students, teachers and other staff  to get access to clean and safe drinking water.”
