Over 500 cases settled during Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited’s Lok AdalatDate : Sep 28, 2022

•  Special Lok Adalat was organized by Tata Power-DDL in association with Delhi State Legal Services Authority on 25th September 2022

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a leading power utility supplying electricity to a populace of 7 million in North Delhi, in association with Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), organized a Special Lok Adalat on Sunday, 25th September 2022, at EAC Office – Sector 3, Rohini.

The Special Lok Adalat was organized under the guidance of Hon’ble Justice Siddharth Mridul, Judge High Court of Delhi & Executive Chairperson-DSLSA.

Tata Power-DDL was able to settle 525 electricity theft cases (i.e. issues related to Meter Tampering, Direct Theft, and Disconnections) and pending matters listed in various courts/forums in the Lok Adalat. The scheme was offered to all categories of consumers with theft dues.

Lok Adalat sessions act as a great catalyst, and help in resolving disputes in a cost-effective and timely manner. They provide an efficient mechanism for consumers to solve power theft or disconnection issues. This Lok Adalat session witnessed an overwhelming response from consumers. All the applicants’ electricity theft issues were amicably settled and were offered a special rebate on their electricity bills.

Tata Power-DDL has been regularly working towards sensitizing people about the Consequences of Electricity theft and it’s Penal Impact for the consumers and the importance of paying bills on time.
