Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited becomes a 100 percent RPO Compliant discom for second consecutive yearDate : Aug 11, 2022

•  Meets compliance through purchase of physical power & RECs

•  Sources more than 2000 MUs of Green Power

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, the power utility that supplies electricity to a populace of over 7 million in North Delhi, becomes a 100% RPO Compliant discom for second consecutive year. The company sourced 2200 Million Units (MUs) of Green Power from renewable sources like Solar, Wind, Hydro and Waste to Energy including Large Hydro sources and fulfilled Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) for FY 2021-22 through physical power. This is approximately 25% of total units sold to consumers by the company in its operational area.

This compliance is in line with its commitment towards the environment, it has made tremendous efforts in meeting Renewable Purchase Obligation. After discharging this obligation second time in a row, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited has become a fully RPO compliant power distribution company.

“In line with the company’s vision for a greener tomorrow, we are extensively promoting the usage of green power and embracing sustainability. We are aligned with the government’s vision of becoming an energy secure nation and attaining a greater share of energy requirements from renewables by 2030. We have made adequate tie-ups for meeting the future RPO targets as well and are looking at enhancing our green energy portfolio to 50% by 2027, said Mr. Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Tata Power-DDL.
