Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, a pioneering power utility supplying electricity to a populace of over 7 million in North Delhi, is organising an extensive safety drive for its consumers and staff to reduce the chances of electricity-related mishaps. Under this drive, more than 1 Lakh installations, including poles, fencings, pillar boxes, street light poles, etc. have been inspected with rectifications in the leakages done.
Safety Advisory for Consumers:
· Ensure decorative lights don’t come in contact with metal poles, railings etc.
· Get an RCCB installed that protects your home against fire incidents
· Call a qualified electrician to put the lights
· Avoid lighting diyas or candles near flammable material
· Choose only good quality wiring and light strings, prefer using LED Lights to save electricity
· Use only ISI marked electrical equipment |
Taking into consideration the safety of its customers, the company is organising a mass awareness drive where all the plain cement and concrete (PCC) poles, street light poles, stay wires, towers, rail poles, fencing, substation, feeder pillar, service pillars, PWD Poles, MCD Poles, ATMs & Lights Installed in parks are being inspected for any leakage points to avoid any mishap.
The company is also running a dedicated social media campaign using its corporate mascot Roshni for giving safety tips to urge consumers to ensure safety during the festivity. It is also sensitizing school children and RWA members through online and offline modes on various aspects of electrical and fire safety. The company has also conducted extensive drive of insulating more than 1000 iron Poles installed in JJ Clusters and other congested areas.
