Tata Power-DDL Continues to Meet Demand Efficiently with Stable Power Supply in its area of OperationsDate : Apr 02, 2025

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited continues to ensure a reliable power supply for North Delhi. Our distribution network has been strategically designed and is being continuously optimized to meet the expected peak demand of 2,562 MW for Summer 2025. To ensure reliability, long-term Power Purchase Agreements and banking arrangements are in place, securing power supply of up to 2,850 MW.

The peak load of the National Capital is projected to reach 9,000 MW in late June or early July as Delhi braces for scorching temperatures this year. Last year, during Summer the power demand peaked to 2,481 MW in Tata Power-DDL's area of operation.

As a standard practice, Tata Power-DDL typically conducts maintenance and network upgradation work between October-March, but this year due to GRAP restrictions in the month of November and December 2024 our scheduled maintenance / network upgradation outage plan amplified in the month of March 2025.

Each year, Tata Power-DDL enhances and expands its network to effectively address the continuously rising demand driven by population growth and the increased electricity consumption resulting from lifestyle changes, such as the use of appliances like air conditioners.

Tata Power-DDL would like to clarify the reasons behind recent power disruptions reported in certain locations. Delhi University (No power cuts in the area in last 1 week), Kirari (in the past week there were seven planned shutdowns of average 1 Hr for system improvement schemes to mitigate overloading ahead of the summer), Rohini Sector 22 (one planned shutdown of six hours was carried out in Pocket 11 & 12 to augment the distribution transformer), Burari (over the last week, nine planned shutdowns, each averaging three hours, were conducted under system improvement schemes to address potential overloading during the summer).

We would also like to clarify that some complaints and claims being shared on social media are inaccurate, misleading, and intended to fabricate a false narrative.

Tata Power-DDL has a dedicated 24x7 Quick Response Team (QRT) to handle any breakdowns or emergencies efficiently.

Despite our comprehensive preparedness, in case of any disruption or local fault, our valued customers can reach us through multiple channels:
