Tata Power-DDL to organize Special ‘Lok Adalat’ on 9th January for on-the-spot settlement of Power Theft casesDate : Jan 07, 2021

TataPower-DDL, a leading power utility supplying electricity to a populace of 7million in North and North-West Delhi, will be organizing a ‘Special LokAdalat’ to settle electricity theft cases on 9th January, 2021from 10AM to 4PM.

 

TheLok Adalat will be conducted in association with the Delhi State Legal ServicesAuthority (DSLSA) at 2 locations- Tata Power-DDL’s EAC Office, Sector-3, Rohiniand at Permanent Lok Adalat, Mata Sundari Lane, Near Bal Bhavan, strictly inadherence with the Covid-19 safety guidelines.

 

Keepingin mind the safety and convenience, all litigants are advised to register priorto the Lok Adalat by contacting on the number – 9711197571 or the EACOffice, Sector-3, Rohini.

 

Thesession will provide Tata Power-DDL consumers/litigants, residing in North andNorth-West Delhi, a one-time opportunity, for an amicable and on-the-spotsettlement of their power theft cases, relating to both Direct Theft (DT) andMeter Tampering (DAE).

 

Casesthat are either pending in any Court of Law or are yet to be filed in any Courtof Law will be taken up by the Lok Adalat. Consumers desirous of settling theirpower theft cases can either attend in person or through their Advocates /Authorised Representatives carrying authorisation letter, photo ID and a copyof their theft bill.

 

Thisis the last opportunity being provided to these consumers to settle their powertheft cases. In case of a default, the company will be compelled to initiatecriminal proceedings against these consumers under the relevant provision ofElectricity Act, 2003. Post their ‘settlement orders’, consumers will berequired to pay their bills on-the-spot. They can pay through various modessuch as Demand Draft, Cheque, Credit Card, Debit Card, Online Payment or Cash.
