Tata Power Delhi Distribution to Organise a Special Lok Adalat on December 8, 2018, for on-the-spot Settlement of Power Theft Cases at Rohini CourtDate : Dec 06, 2018

In response to consumer’s requests, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), is organising a special Lok Adalat on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10 AM onwards at the Rohini Court. Consumers, after reaching Rohini Court complex, can approach our Felicitation Centre (Near Central Hall) for registration and help.

The Lok Adalat will provide Tata Power-DDL customers/litigants residing in North and North-West Delhi, a one-time opportunity, for an amicable and on-the-spot settlement of their power theft cases, relating to both direct thefts (DT) and meter tampering (DAE). Cases that are either pending in any Court of Law or are yet to be filed in any Court of Law will be taken up by the Lok Adalat. Customers desirous of settling their power theft cases can either attend in person or through their advocates / authorised representatives carrying authorisation letter. Consumer need to carry their photo ID and a copy of their theft bill.

Moreover, keeping with Tata Power-DDL’s pro-environment policies, the Lok Adalat promises to be ‘green’ and an environment friendly affair. Tata Power-DDL and DSLSA are taking special care to make this Lok Adalat a paperless one. There will be no physical movements of files. All relevant case documents and files will be accessible from the computers that will be deployed for the purpose.

This is the last opportunity being provided to these consumers to settle their power theft cases. In case of a default, the company will be compelled to initiate criminal proceedings against these consumers under the relevant provision of Electricity Act, 2003. Post their settlement orders, customers will be given sufficient time to pay their bills. To ensure the success of the Lok Adalat, Tata Power-DDL is taking all possible steps to inform customers through various channels. Besides sending letters / notices, WhatsApp messages, the company is also running radio spots on popular FM station.
